Karen Doherty and Alison Howarth ran the annual Ales and Trails Fell Race at Horwich on New Year's Eve. The seven-mile route saw runners climb to the summits of Rivington Pike and the Two Lads memorial. A bag piper played at the start and the finish, and all finishers got a free pie and pint in the pub. Karen Doherty ran 1:26:56, whilst Alison Howarth finished in 1:38:30. Both Radcliffe runners were cheered on by clubmate Chris Mihalyi, putting in a shift as a fantastic race marshal.

On New Year’s Day, a group of Radcliffe runners took on the Clowbridge 5k, running 2 laps of Clowbridge reservoir in the heavy wind and rain. Mark Garner finished first for Radcliffe in 23:29, followed by Jules Davies (25:04), Sarah Wilson (31:24), and Karen Wells (32:41).
