Fresh from his Bury 10k achievements 2 weeks prior, Steven Fawcett was once again first home for Radcliffe at the Worsley Woods 5 Mile Trail Race at the weekend. Fawcett completed the mixed terrain trail race which is part of the Central Lancs Grand Prix in a time of 32:19, coming tenth overall and second in his age category (V45). Second for Radcliffe and an incredible first in his age category (V60) was Michael Kontowtt in 34:39.

Also racing at Worsley Woods for Radcliffe were: Mark Williams (36:14), Mark Taylor (36:32), Jules Davies (36:40), Joseph Bramwell (37:01), Adam Wills (37:53), Dominic Parry (39:03), Neil Greenhalgh (40:31), Paula Abernethy (41:20), Ethan Malone (41:40), Charlene Leyden (43:21), Karen Doherty (43:55), Lucie Tighe (46:45), Ross Calvert (47:12), Peter Warr (47:30), Sarah Wilson (47:41), Cath Jones (48:59), Wayne Holden (49:50), Charlotte Holden (50:17), Tracy Wroe (52:19), Laura Aiken (53:02), Caroline Malone (53:03), Helen Kay (53:25), Natalie Hitchen (57:02), Elaine Bailey (57:09), and Sara Parry (1:03:43).

During midweek it was the penultimate round of the Run The Moors fell race league, with the 5 Trigs Fell Race. Radcliffe AC had 4 runners taking on the 29 kilometer challenge that includes 914 meters of climbing, and no fewer than 5 trig point ascents. First back into the valley for Radcliffe was Ian Swan in 3:15:19, followed by Mark Garner (3:46:13), Christopher Mihalyi (3:51:24), and Kathryn Davies (4:14:32).

Aside from the team efforts, there was a series of solo adventures for RAC athletes during the week. Scott Rosevere completed the Lakeland Trails 18 km trail race at Cartmel in 2:03:07, Paul Stevens raced the Run Media City 5K in 24:16, and Kath Biddle ran the Tower to Castle 30-mile ultramarathon in 6:16:31. A race from Blackpool tower to Lancaster castle along coastal, trail paths and fields with a unique ferry crossing at the 9th mile.
