Special Milestones for Radcliffe AC Runners

3 June 2024 (by D.Cartwright)

Two Radcliffe AC runners took on the Edenfield Fell Race on Sunday morning, an unforgiving 10.3 km route that starts with a relentless uphill, before summitting both Cowpe Lowe and Whittle Hill, with a total elevation of 477 meters. Ian Swan completed the distance in 1 hour, 2 minutes, whilst Andrew O’Donnell, running in his first ever fell race, finished in 1:08:56.

There were another two Radcliffe runners at the midweek Dovestone Diamond 10km trail race last week. Adam Wills completed the scenic multi-terrain route in 52 mins, whilst Karen Wells finished in a time of 1 hour, 2 mins, 6 secs.

Elsewhere, the unstoppable Kath Biddle continued her tireless tour of half marathons last week at the Jubilee Half Marathon. Starting and finishing by crossing the River Mersey near Runcorn, Kath completed her 125th Half Marathon, in 99 different locations, in a time of 2 hours, 7 mins, 10 secs.

In a special Parkrun mention, Helen Kay was at Bushy Parkrun on the weekend, the birthplace of the Parkrun movement. Running Bushy event number 987, Helen was celebrating 14 years of personal participation in the movement which has helped to improve people’s mental and physical health in an inclusive, and welcoming way for nearly 20 years.
