Three Radcliffe AC runners proved that they do like to be beside the seaside.
They travelled to Southport on the Lancashire coast for the popular Mad Dog 10k, which regularly wins awards for the UK’s best 10k.
Sunday’s event attracted around 1,300 runners and Elaine Bailey was the club’s first finisher in 56:44. Next home for Radcliffe on the seafront course was Emma Wolstencroft in 1:02:47 while Helen Kay clocked 1:05:09.
The trio enjoyed good weather and were rewarded with themed medals, T-shirts and dog tags.
Bailey and Kay were also among Radcliffe members who took part in Saturday’s popular 5k parkruns, with the former finishing second VW60 in 29:12 at Worsley Woods. She was joined by Tracy Wroe who ran 32:21.
Kay ran 31:30 at Philips Park while Peter Hunter clocked 21:50 and Bev Quinton finished in 57:37 as the volunteer tail walker.
