13 February 2023 (by D.Cartwright)

Three Radcliffe runners set excellent times when they took part in races from 10k to 12 miles.

Rob Shiels continued his run of great results when he was third V45 in 40:10 at Tatton 10k. He was an impressive 21st out of 765 runners on the undulating but fast course in Tatton Park.

Across in Liverpool, Brandon Wilkinson bagged a new personal best at the world-famous Aintree Racecourse. He ran 43:13 at Aintree 10k to come 47th out of 498 runners.

Meanwhile, Lee Turner clocked 2:01:45 when he took to the Pennine Moors above Saddleworth and Littleborough for the Windy Hill Fell Race. The 12-mile route started in Denshaw and had around 2,000ft of climbing, taking in Blackstone Edge, the Pennine Way and the Windy Hill Mast.

Lots of Radcliffe runners were in action at the popular Saturday morning 5k parkruns. Ian Swan flew round Heaton Park in 22:05 and also running were Sheila Jones (first WV65 in 23:44), Emma Wolstencroft (31:09) and Deborah Warrington (31:22).

At the club’s other local parkrun, Bolton, Mark Williams ran 24:28 followed by Caroline Malone (34:14) and Michael Scott (48:41)
