Radcliffe Athletic Club member Peter Warr completed an epic challenge to run the length of the country.
He took part in the 874-mile LeJog, covering the equivalent of the distance from Land’s End to John O’ Groats.
Participants had to complete the virtual challenge in 2021 and Warr notched up the distance just before Christmas despite a long-running knee injury. He was raising money for Alzheimer’s UK and local charity Bury Red Door.
Lucy Tetler completed the Hit the Trail five-mile race in Reddish Vale, Stockport in 51:47 while Mark Wolfenden took to the hills for the Bilberry Fields Fell race in Todmorden. Despite being He was among several runners who took the wrong route, finishing the 4.6-mile course with 1,220ft of ascent in 1:17:00.
Peter Hunter celebrated his birthday by notching up his 150th parkrun at Heaton Park, clocking 27:36. Also running were Sheila Jones who was first VW65 in 25:01, while Elaine Bailey ran 32:04 and Nick Barnes 32:15.
Rob Shiels was third at Hyndburn parkrun in 21:38 while Kris Booth and Stephen Crowe ran 26:39 and 31:49 respectively at Bolton. Caroline Malone completed Peel parkrun in 29:30 and Cheryl Gallagher ran 33:09.
