There were wins on the trails and roads of Rivington for Radcliffe Athletic Club members at the Ian Hesketh Memorial Duathlon.
A trio of runners took part in the event which comprises a 25k bike ride sandwiched by two 5k trail runs – with the option of entering individually or as a relay team.
Radcliffe’s Craig Norman and his brother Karl were winning team, clocking a combined time of 1:23:19. Craig completed the runs in 20:58 and 21:55 respectively while Karl finished the bike ride in 40:26.
Lee Cooper was 22nd in 01:36:40. His times were 24:30 (run 1), 45:47 (cycle) and 26:23 (run 2).
Paula Abernethy clocked 1:48:28 to finish first VW50 and 34th overall in 1:48:28, with times of 26:38 (run 1), 54:06 (cycle) and 27:44 (run 2).
Mia Derbyshire posted a superb double performance at both ends of the racing spectrum. She ran a great 3:29:46 in the Edinburgh Marathon, hot on the heels of a 21.06pb in the mid-week Media City 5k where she was second lady.
There was more sibling success for Radcliffe AC juniors Harley and Francesca Porter who took part in the Great Manchester Run 2.5k.
The club was also well represented at the popular 5k parkruns. Taking part in the 500th Bolton parkrun in Leverhulme Park were Kris Booth (26:22), Mark Williams (33:07) and Natalie Hitchen (35:01).
Six members ran at Stretford where Chris Paxton was 24th in 19:22 followed by Neil Greenhalgh (19:32), Bradleigh Holmes (20:21), Stephen Birtwistle (21:11), Ian Swan (21:30) and Peter Hunter (21:40).
