There was a hat-trick of wins for Radcliffe Athletic Club at the Ian Hesketh Memorial Duathlon.

Husband and wife Donna and Mark Cartwright were the first relay team at the event which comprises a 25k bike ride sandwiched by two 5k trail runs.

Donna completed the runs in 22:25 and 23:35 respectively, while Mark notched up the second fastest bike ride of the day in 38:57, giving them a combined time of 1:24:57.

The event was held around Rivington with competitors either entering as a team or individually.

In the individual standings, Lee Cooper was first M40 with a time of 01:36:05 for the three segments while Paula Abernethy was F55 in 01:53:04.

The day after, Donna and Mark completed the 10-mile Tough Mudder at Cheshire, a course packed with mud and 25 obstacles.

In very warm conditions, Kath Davies ran 2:02:06 at the Stockport Hatters Trail Half Marathon.

Ian Swan was 162nd out of a field of 1,184 in 45:27 at the Altrincham 10, notching up both 5k and 10k pbs in the process, while Stephen Crowe clocked 40:17 at the Blackpool Night Run in aid of Brain House Children’s Hospice.

Members were also in action at the popular 5k parkruns with Elaine Bailey and Andy Wheeler running 31:38 and 34:58 at Bolton.

At Heaton Park, Jenny Yates clocked 24:21, Peter Hunter 26:22, Tracy Wroe 35:42, Bev Quinton 35:43 and Charles Whalley 44:57.

Tony Holt finished in 21:28 at Keswick parkrun, Steve Hamer ran 24:00 at Sale Water Park and Sheila Jones clocked 23:00 at Stretford.
