Two Radcliffe Athletic Club members proved that they aren’t scared of the dark when they took on a 10k with a difference.
Michelle Hincks and Carl Willcock received ‘glow in the dark’ medals after finishing the Petzel Night Runner Race at Rivington.
The boggy course is difficult enough in daylight, but the Radcliffe duo were among 350 runners who completed it at night. Willcock was 81st in 1:04:39 while Hincks ran 1:09:10 to finish 129th.
Radcliffe members were also in action at the popular 5k parkruns. Rob Shiels was 22nd at Heaton Park in 19:46 while Sheila Jones was first VW65 in 23:32. Also running were Robbie Parkinson (24:48), Cheryl Gallagher (33:49), Bev Quinton (41:49) and Charles Whalley (47:31).
Caroline Malone ran 28:55 at Peek parkrun and Tracy Wroe clocked 32:48 at Worsley Woods.
